Our Personal Development Programme
Personal development is a key aspect of our Trust Dividend as we strive to provide excellence and opportunity for all through The Character Academy at Four Stones Gateway. Our broad and enriching offer is underpinned by our core values of Ambition, Commitment, Creativity and Integrity, and is designed to further develop students’ knowledge and skills by complementing their academic experiences in the classroom.
Through our work, we prepare our students to be global citizens and active participants in society who are equipped to take on the challenges they may face. We pride ourselves on developing students with character who are both interesting and interested by exposing them to a diverse range of opportunities that enhance social and cultural capital.
Our personal development mission is simple: we want all of our students to have full access to the extra-curricular and enrichment activities available to them to enable their lives to be transformed. Our offer comprises of ten benchmarks which each develop a key aspect of character:
- Session 6: students are able to access a range of extra-curricular clubs.
- Value Added: students access opportunities for the curriculum to be brought to life.
- Change the World: students are encouraged to be advocates for change, to lead and campaign.
- Elevate – Character Academy Network: students have access to a range of contacts, alumni and businesses.
- Representability: students feel proud to represent themselves, their house and their school in events and competitions.
- Spectator: students are invited to see major events to feel inspired.
- See the World: students travel to destinations nationally and internationally to learn.
- Love Arts: students are immersed in high quality arts and culture.
- Embrace: students experience opportunities to celebrate the diversity in our wider community.
